ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY
Peter Nolan, an artist filled with light and spirit, has been creating art through various mediums for over fifty years. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2015, Peter continues to manifest his art despite physical challenges, however, to a limited extent. Recently, he has created pencil renderings that will soon be available for purchase through his website. Strong in will and faith, Peter hopes to continue creating new art.
From 1968 to 1982 he studied art at State University of New York in Farmingdale, as well as Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University, both in Virginia. Throughout Peter’s education and art practice, he was inspired to use art as a therapy, and in the early 1980’s, his work became more ethereal in nature.
In 1985, Peter was introduced to the therapeutic indications of the arts through Dr. Rudolf Steiner’s lifelong work, entitled Anthroposophical Medicine. Peter made a thorough study of this work which included the realm of art therapy and painting. He then studied with internationally known Veil Painter, Lois Schroff, and Lazure Painter, Robert Logsdon, who were both advocates of the Rudolf Steiner philosophy of painting.
Thereafter Veil painting and Lazure painting became Peter’s true passion for expressing the wonder and beauty of the invisible world into the visible world as color living in an environment. Peter’s body of work consists of Veil paintings, color pencil renderings, and photography as an extension of working with color and light in the ethereal realm. Also included in his work are commissioned Lazure paintings in places of worship, practitioners' and doctors' offices as well as residential and commercial interiors.
Thank you for your support and for spreading his light.
